Registration is now open!

Join us for a night of fun and fundraising at the 20th annual Scrabble for Literacy event! This year, we're not only offering the classic Scrabble game but also adding 2 new games: Scattegories and Trivia. It's a fantastic opportunity to play, laugh, and compete for a good cause. Gather your friends, colleagues, or come solo - everyone can contribute to the cause and have a great time.

Presented by CIBC, this lively event will take place at Arcadian Loft in downtown Toronto on March 6, 2024. Beyond the word games, there'll be additional activities catering to various interests! Meet fellow participants, cheer on your team, bid on fantastic silent auction items, and savor canapés and cocktails in a competitive yet enjoyable atmosphere.

Whether you're playing with friends or solo, increase your winning chances with Helpful Assists, including word lists and guidance from Canada’s top Scrabble players. All proceeds support literacy programs. Since 2005, Scrabble for Literacy has raised $4.2 million for United for Literacy (formerly Frontier College).

United for Literacy
United for Literacy has been delivering literacy programs to people in communities across Canada since 1899. We started by hosting reading camps equipped with books and volunteers to teach people in remote locations. Today, we offer a variety of programs all over the country. Our founder’s approach was “every place is a learning place,” which established how education and basic literacy was taught throughout Canada. United for Literacy is not bound by the walls of a classroom, only by the dreams of our learners. Our staff and volunteers activate those dreams and help people realize them. Across Canada—in urbanized, rural, and remote locations—we believe any place can be a learning place. We offer free literacy and numeracy programs for children, teens, adults, seniors, and families. Practical and goal-oriented, some programs are in-person, while others reach people online. Our learner-centered programs are tailored appropriately to different ages, life stages, and community priorities. Educators widely regard our programming as best-in-class examples of Student-Centered Individualized Learning principles.
